Corporate Headquarters

WS Packaging is a fortune 500 company and is the largest printing and label converting company in North America with over 1,500 employees at 18 manufacturing plants and 85 sales offices.

The design concept of the WS Packaging, Inc. Headquarters Facility revolves around the use of natural daylighting and energy efficient systems to provide an eco-sensitive project that enhances user productivity and promotes worker interaction. The floor plan is based on a radial scheme from which two clerestory corridor spines extend from a central rotunda. The glazing on the spines provides significant daylighting deep into the center workspaces and creates a social alleyway that facilitates interaction amongst the various departments.

Along the facility’s exterior walls, horizontal aluminum sunshades and daylight shelves are used to reduce solar gain and glare and to allow maximize glazing without compromising the heating and cooling loads. Interior office partitions have full height window frames in multiple walls to provide every worker an exterior view.

The exterior façade meshes a combination of natural materials with cutting edge building products to create a harmonic balance of timeless construction and new age technology. Composite aluminum wall panels shape the radial entrance which invite guests into the facility, while stone and brick form the workspace wings anchoring the building to the site.
There was a 5-month construction schedule for this project during the winter months.

The final product is one the owner truly embraces as being unique and a place to call ‘home’.
This project won an AGC Build Wisconsin Award.
