About

Safety

Since our founding as a family owned general contractor, the health and safety of everyone on our job sites has always been our number one priority. The single most important thing each day is that our loved ones out in the field return home safe after each day’s work.

Zeise Construction boasts an outstanding safety record well below industry average among commercial construction contractors due to our comprehensive approach. Rather than simply reacting to incidents and correcting contributing factors, our project teams are proactive and prevent incidents from occurring. Aggressive safety management techniques such as improved hazard recognition, hazard correction, and employee involvement help reduce occupational injuries and illnesses. We promote our programs as a corporate-wide process that helps us ensure a safe work environment for all.

Every jobsite has its own unique risks. Time is devoted before construction starts to identify those risks and establish a plan to address them. Planning ahead allows workers to see and avoid mishaps before they occur.

Our comprehensive safety program is adhered to by each subcontractor on a Zeise Construction project. By setting high standards for safety and communicating those expectations early and often, we cultivate an environment that is safe for our team, our clients and the surrounding community.

We also employ third-party representatives from the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin and Acuity Insurance for mock OSHA inspections. They visit our jobsites on a regular basis to provide continuous feedback on what we are doing right – and advise us when there is room for improvement.

All of our safety coordinators, superintendents, and equipment operators attend the annual “Safety Days” safety training held by AGC of Wisconsin.

We hold quarterly training sessions with topics specifically chosen by our office (example: fork lift training, scaffolding, first aid, rigging, barricading, etc.) to ensure that our employees stay current with all safety rules and regulations. We are also current on all Silica Rules & Regulations.

Our crane operators are NCCO certified for Hydraulic Cranes, 17 tons and under and for Hydraulic Cranes, 17 tons and over.
