Frank O. Zeise Construction has been selected as an AGC-2018 Build Wisconsin award winner for the Kaukauna Fire Station. This project is a 29,416 sq. ft. facility housing 7 drive-thru truck bays, staff quarters and unique training areas including a confined space rescue area, rooftop rescue training and a specialized training tower. The Kaukauna Fire Station was built to LEED Gold Standards including a geothermal heating/cooling system, LED Lighting, a large skylight spanning the width of the apparatus bay for additional daylighting completely reducing the need for artificial light during daylight hours and solar panels installed on the roof to generate electricity to be used within the building. The new 90kW photovoltaic array is the largest PV system serving a fire department-owned building in Wisconsin. Most importantly, this new state of the art facility has also allowed the Kaukauna Fire Department to shorten their response time for emergency services.
